Daisy and Minnie are baby Rankins dragons.  Their mother had some health issues while she was gravid and died before she laid the eggs, and this could be the reason Daisy and Minnie were not strong when they hatched.  Minnie did not seem to absorb nutrients properly and was extremely thin and passed away on December 22nd.  Daisy was born with a short tail that has a pronounced kink in the middle, and has balance and gait issues.  She does not follow prey easily and often misses when she hunts.  She needs to be carefully hand-fed, but she doesn't eat out of my hand, so it is a challenge to encourage her to hunt and eat.  She is missing part of her right hand and left foot, which doesn't help her balance issues.  She is a sweet doll and I hope she grows to live a good life.

12/22/12 - Daisy doesn't seem too amused at all the picture taking. Photo taken in her quarantine bin before she was fed.

2/12/13 - Daisy is growing up. She looks so serious and old in this picture. She is still just a baby but I am seeing more self confidence in her and she is a better eater than she has been.
