Sam is the only reptile in the rescue that was not surrendered to us.  Sam was on Craigs List for about 2 months and advertised as 'coming with everything' but there were no lights in the listing.  It drove me nuts to see him with the tank and 'everything' so I finally texted the person who had him listed.  Sam's story was that he was passed down from a friend and they put him up against a window for heat and light and he seemed to be more active at that time.   I explained what he really needed:  heat light and a UVB, and I was offered Sam for $10 tank and all.  Sam is shy and reclusive and prefers not to be handled, and we respect his wishes.   We got Sam in October 2012.

Shy and reclusive, Sam will hide if you try to handle him.

He had a large wooden hide previously but we changed it to stone to make it smaller for security, and so it would hold heat.
