Squirmy Bob is a Rankins or Lawsons Dragon, which is a species of Agamid like the bearded dragon, just smaller and slightly different in care and personality.   Squirmy came into the rescue in August 2012 and appears to have some severe neurological problems.  His prior home tried to treat this as hypocalcemia and had him under a Mercury Vapor Bulb and on liquid calcium, but he never improved or worsened.   Bob has a 10 gallon home with a paver, small food dish and shallow water bowl.  He loves to play in the water and has a very funny personality.  Feirce with his bobbing, he challenges everyone he can see in the rescue.   We have given him a strategic place so he can see everything that goes on around him, and he seems to enjoy the view.

Squirmy Bob usually sleeps upright.

Sometimes he can prop himself up on a few of his legs.

He has to flail his arm and squirm to walk. Amazing, he is a good hunter!

Sometimes he can get into a position where he looks perfectly normal, as if there is nothing wrong with him.

2/7/13 - Bob climbed the half-log in the rescue room and perched there for hours. He loves to climb and any chance he gets to be up high he will certainly climb as far as he can go.

Bob loves to lay in his dishes.

When we put him down, his legs fold underneath him and he has to wriggle to balance againsgt them.

1/10/13 - He is a water baby and loves to swim.

2/17/13 - Bob is enjoying the outside basking area in the rescue room. He acts like he is a little King on that bean bag.
